Code Ready Essentials is a practical three-day training program designed to help participants develop or strengthen their understanding of the Nova Scotia Building Code and build confidence in navigating and applying code requirements.
The training focuses on key requirements of the National Building Code 2020, as adopted in Nova Scotia, with an emphasis on Part 9 – Housing and Small Buildings. One full day of the three-day program is dedicated to Section 9.36 – Energy Efficiency, giving participants a focused understanding of energy efficiency requirements and how to apply them to residential construction.
Through practical, accessible instruction, participants will learn how to navigate and interpret building code requirements, understand how different requirements apply, and build their overall knowledge of the code as it relates to residential construction in Nova Scotia.
Code Ready Essentials is designed for a wide range of participants, including builders, renovators, contractors, tradespeople, building officials, designers, students, those entering or exploring careers in residential construction, and anyone interested in strengthening their knowledge of the Nova Scotia Building Code.
Previous building code experience is not required.
